It may have emerged as a major beer style of London but hey, it’s only a short hop and a skip from there to Suffolk.

And back in the day, much of Suffolk’s barley crop headed south west to satisfy the demand for what soon became London’s major beer style.

Dark beers have been a major part of Suffolk’s heritage ever since, now reaching a logical conclusion in the guise of Paladin.

No, it’s not Irish; yes, it is different. It is also incredibly moreish. We’re not looking to make people switch allegiances...

...(erm, actually we are); what we really offer is just the chance to expand horizons and open the way to new, more local and alternative options. Our stout may not pack as much of a punch alcohol wise as they did in the good old days, but boy oh boy does it make up for that in flavour. Rich, complex, wonderfully harmonious and yet, extremely understated. PALADIN is a reflection of the countryside from which it was born.

Nitro Stout
Black, creamy – and Irish, that’s the definition of stout right? Hmm, well it may be for many people, but at its heart stout is a very English beer indeed. It is a multi-faceted and multi-dimensional style, and yet it is largely known in its most famed Irish and nitro form. Other nitro stouts are available; richer, more complex and even more rewarding, and yet many drinkers are simply not for turning. We named this beer Paladin, which means someone ‘who is committed to a just and noble cause’. In this corner of Suffolk, we are committed to enlightening “you know what” drinkers and showing them there is a better way. Lead the horse to water and actually get it to drink? What more just and noble cause can there be than that?
