Who is...

Temple Chevallier

The brother of Clement Chevallier who founded Aspall Cyder in 1728. Temple did follow his brother to England but worked for the East India Company, eventually becoming a ship’s captain.

While his brother was busy making cyder in Suffolk, Temple sailed the seas developing a taste for rum and continental beer. Infamously shipwrecked off the Cornish coast whilst captaining the Snow Princess, his badge has a passing nod to his nautical past. Very endearingly, Clement started all his letters to Temple with “Dear Bro”.
